What is the color of your dog’s teeth?
The normal color of a dog’s teeth is supposed to be white; any deviation from the white color indicates something wrong.
The majority of dog parents don’t give a damn about their dogs’ dental health; they just let the discoloration happen without trying to stop or reserve it.
Dogs with bad dental hygiene frequently have teeth that are black, yellow, cream, brown, etc. Dog parents should take note of these colors as they are an indicator of poor oral hygiene, which can lead to potentially fatal conditions like gingivitis and tooth decay.
This blog post gives you six tips to help keep your dog’s teeth white and healthy.
Are the teeth of your dog white, clean, and healthy? If not. Do the following to make them clean and healthy forever:
Give chewing toys to your dog 24/7. When dogs bite on toys, they remove all the food particles that would stain the teeth.
Regularly brush the teeth of your dog. Brush the teeth of your dog minimally 3–4 times a week using dog toothpaste and a toothbrush. Never use human toothpaste; it is toxic to dogs.
Give your dog drinking water 24/7. Water removes food particles from the teeth of your dog.
Proper feeding, giving an unbalanced to your dog, and diets with excess fluoride, mostly in drinking water, cause yellowing of the teeth and other abnormalities.
Make routine dental checkups and scaling at the nearby vet clinic. Dental scaling helps to remove food particles lodged in areas where a toothbrush cannot reach.
Avoid or reduce pasty or sweetened foods. They stick and stain the teeth if given for a long time without cleaning your dog’s teeth.
Before implementing any of the above practices, ensure none of your dog’s teeth are decayed. If you suspect tooth decay, seek medical attention first from a veterinarian.
