Vaccination Vet bills vary among vets and animal clinics in Kampala, Uganda
Dogs aged three months and above are supposed to be given the rabies vaccine and the cocktail vaccine. The cocktail vaccine provides protection against leptospirosis, parvovirosis, canine distemper, infectious hepatitis, parainfluenza, infectious laryngotracheitis, bordetellosis, e.t.c.
There are many brands of cocktail vaccines on the market with different antigens (each brand provides protection against certain diseases). It’s highly recommendable to consult a nearby veterinarian to choose the best brand for your pet, depending on the pet’s environment and the available predisposing factors.
Rabies and cocktail vaccines are given annually throughout the entire life of the dog.
Puppies below three months of age are given a couple of parvo shots. Contact our veterinary doctor for the right vaccination schedule for your pet. (+256771909946)

What factors determine the price of vaccinations for dogs?
There are several factors vet doctors base on to bill vaccinations in dogs. These commonly include:
Brand of the vaccine used: European and US brands are more expensive than brands from other regions. The price of vaccination is slightly high for vets who use European and US brands.
Number of dogs vaccinated: some vets or animal clinics give discounts if they vaccinate many dogs for the same client at once.
Availability of the vaccine: when vaccines are few on the market, the prices are hiked due to high competition. The vet will pick up the vaccine from the drug shop at a higher price, making it more expensive for the client.
Type of vaccine given: rabies, parvo, and cocktail vaccines are priced differently.
Nature of veterinary services the client asked: Mobile vet services are more expensive than stationed vet services (at a clinic or hospital). For mobile veterinary services transport, home call fee, consultation fees are charged on top of vaccination costs.
However, at the vet clinic or hospital, only consultation and vaccination fees are charged.
